All About F.A.L.C.O.N.

(Fellowship of Amateurs Linking Counties Over Networks)

F.A.L.C.O.N. was originally started back in 2021 during the COVID pandemic as a way to get the first DMR repeater on the air in Blytheville, AR. No club or groups seemed to be operating or interested. Seeing no easy path forward, we applied for a club callsign and quickly changed to a vanity call, KG5A. Initially it was called H.A.R.C. (Hickman Amateur Radio Club).

The vision has always been simple – use available tools to bring hams closer. At the beginning, this meant getting the first DMR repeater on the air in the NE Arkansas and Missouri bootheel area. The next step has been combining efforts with the West TN area clubs and repeater owners that share a vision of using DMR on a digital-only network to help connect people at playtime (West TN Talk/ TN10) and in a time of urgent need (West TN Mutual Aid).
